Nigeria, today, lost its soccer icon and former Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper, Peter Rufai.
According to a Radio Nigeria news report, Rufai passed away after prolonged illness.
He was aged 61 years.
Nicknamed Dodomayana, Rufai was widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers Nigeria has produced.

Peter Rufai was a Nigerian professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He competed professionally in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain, in a senior career that lasted 20 years.
