Veteran Nollywood actor, Charles Olumo, popularly known by his stage name Agbako, is dead.
He died on today (Thursday) at the age of 102 years.
Confirming the death, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin who is the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), disclosed in a statement, “TAMPAN globally announces the passing of Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, fondly known as AGBAKO”.
He added that details of the burial arrangements would be shared at a later time.
“Good night father, 25/02/1923 to 31/10/2024”, Amusan concludes in the statement.
Jide Kosoko, also a veteran actor, “Good night, dear Baba Charles, a.k.a Agbako. Your remarkable life span of 102 years was truly a testament to your resilience and vitality. May your noble soul rest in eternal peace.”
On her part, Omowumi Ajiboye, also an actress said, “Rest in perfect peace, sir. Your illustrious legacy shall forever endure in our hearts. Farewell, dear legend.”
