Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy shines at PEBEC

By the Editor

The Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and two of its parastatals have been applauded by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, PEBEC.

In a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Minster of the ministry, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola announced that his ministry had been honoured by the Council (PEBEC) as the overall best-performing ministry; while the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), two of the parastatals under the supervision of the ministry, were recognized and awarded for being the “Most Committed with the Most Activities,” and for “Team Consistency and Quality Delivery”, respectively.

Oyetola states, “I am deeply honored to announce that our ministry has been recognized by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) as the overall best-performing ministry”; adding, “Additionally, I am proud to highlight the exceptional achievements of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). NPA was awarded for being the “Most Committed with the Most Activities,” while NIMASA was recognized for their “Team Consistency and Quality Delivery””.

The Honourable Minister disclosed that the recognition was witnessed by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima at the recently concluded PEBEC town hall meeting, held in the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

It would be recalled that PEBEC was established to drive business climate reforms in Nigeria by eliminating bureaucratic and legislative obstacles, thereby enhancing the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

And, on its part, the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy was established by the Bola Tinubu administration to explore, protect, and unlock the tremendous potential of Nigeria’s marine heritage and the vast opportunities it presents for economic growth and sustainable development.
